The Look

For the past year and half- yes a long long time before I was even engaged- I always thought I would be married in a spanish style dress. Something with a ruffle-y skirt that moves and "dances". Kind of like this Monique Lhuillier:

So I actually went to the Monique Lhuillier trunk show last month and the dress was $16,000!!!!!!!!!!! So I just kept on walking. I tried on a whole bunch of other Monique's though and they were amazing. I did fall in love with another ruffle gown similar to this one but from her 2006 line. It was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. However I also tried on a lot of other typical ball gown dresses and also fell in love with an Amsale gown that was very regal and pretty. Yesterday (4/19/2009) I went to Priscilla of Boston and fell in love with a dress that I am pretty sure is THE dress. I'm not going to post a picture (but I might give some of the Knotties a little glimpse....I'm dying, I have to show someone soon!) but suffice to say that its very girly and regal but not too frou frou. It's perfect and makes me look like a skinny minny!

As far as makeup and hair goes I am into the dark eye and light/nude lip look and Bridget Bardot style hair. I really like these looks (first image from Alain Martinez Photographey):
